We’re delighted to announce that two of our incredible team have today been awarded one of the most prestigious titles in the media world – as winners of the UK Young Lions PR competition 2016.
Our huge congratulations go to Matt Watson and Paul Stollery, whose winning entry beat 40 other entries from across a wide range of media and communications disciplines.
Francis Ingham MPRCA, Director General, PRCA, said: “Looking at the calibre of campaign entries this year, all shortlisted teams should be extremely proud of their work. The winning Hotwire entry demonstrated what a knowledgeable and creative team Watson and Stollery make and they are immensely deserving of their win. We all wish them the best of luck in Cannes.”
Hotwire had two teams shortlisted within the final six – unheard of for a competition that has traditionally been dominated by ad agencies and consumer specialists.
We couldn’t be prouder of both our shortlisted teams, and to win against such huge competition is incredible. Every day we go way above and beyond traditional media relations to deliver impactful, creative and exciting campaigns for our clients and this award is testament to our amazing team’s ability to bring truly integrated ideas to life – even under pressure.
The Cannes Young Lions competition runs every year across the world, and sees national teams, made up of the brightest professional minds under 30 working in media agencies, competing over just one day to develop an innovative media strategy to a charity’s brief before being judged by a high profile Young Lions Media Jury. This year the teams had 24 hours to create a campaign in response to a brief set by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

Matt and Paul will be heading to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June to compete against representatives from more than 30 countries. Good luck guys!
