A Note From Hotwire's New Group CEO Barbara Bates
It’s hard to believe that just six months ago, I experienced one of the most exciting times in my career. Becoming part of Hotwire PR after running my own agency for more than 25 years was both thrilling and scary. I had deflected many suitors over the years, thinking I needed to stay independent to see my vision of a technology focused agency, bent on changing the rules, come true. But I could not be more thrilled to now take on the role of Group CEO for Hotwire and expand my vision beyond North America. As a long-time partner with Hotwire before joining the company last September, I knew first-hand the quality of the people, the reputation of the work and the many shared values we had. What I have come to know even more is the world class leadership team across the globe and the shared spirit of adventure, ambition and focus on creating amazing experiences – for our clients and for our staff.
Each one of us believes Hotwire is in a unique position to offer something different to clients who see the strategic value of communications not just as a marketing tool but as a business-critical initiative. Something different to clients who don’t care if it’s PR, social media, content marketing or digital strategy that will help them get closer to their customers—they just need it done well and with results. Something different from what they think they can only get from the behemoth multinationals as far as global support and instead deliver large scale and personalized campaigns, with no compromises.
Hotwire’s reputation in EMEA is second to none. Just look at the industry recognition we’ve received in recent years and the world class brands we’ve attracted. Now with our larger presence and strong reputation in the US, thanks in large part to the Eastwick acquisition last September, we are in a better position than ever to challenge the status quo for what a global communications agency can deliver to clients of all sizes. Our recent ranking amongst top US agencies is testament to the Hotwire brand exceling in all regions.
I will be doing absolutely everything in my power to bring our collective ambitions to life, whether that be growing our global footprint, expanding our services, developing more award-winning work on behalf of our clients or bringing new, fulfilling and challenging opportunities to the Hotwire team–it’s going to be quite a ride – so hold on tight!!
The most important thing for me in this new role is to get to know staff and clients in all of our regions better right away – so I will be visiting each of Hotwire’s European offices over the course of the next couple of weeks, and our co-branded partners as soon as possible. And I have just recently come back from a trip to our Australian office. I can’t wait to hear your ideas and opinions so please reach out. As we wrap up what will be Hotwire’s best year ever, we couldn’t be in a better position to shake things up.
